Creating a Stone Garden Fountain, from Design to Functional Testing

When discussing artisanal quality, we are primarily discussing attention to detail. Creating a stone garden fountain means starting from the design, analyzing its dimensions and harmony, as well as testing its functionality.

Fountains have always adorned squares and gardens of private villas. What makes them unique is certainly that blend of stillness and dynamism, between the power of forms and the fluidity of water in its countless displays. A multisensory experience that engages sight and hearing and has enchanted for centuries.

Creating a stone garden fountain, following the rules of artisanal tradition, means going through a series of steps. It begins with the initial design, which must take into account the context in which the fountain will be installed. Dimensions and proportions are carefully studied to ensure the piece integrates naturally within the spaces that will host it. Using a combination of technology and manual tools, we proceed with the creation of the artifact.

In our workshop, we primarily use Vicenza stone, the great treasure of our land, but other types of materials may also be utilized.

The attention to detail mentioned earlier is evident in every phase of the work and culminates with the functional test. The drip test serves to verify that the water features are perfectly functional, ensuring proper water flow and preventing stagnant areas that could mar or even damage the stone.

Here are all the phases, captured in a short video:
