Natural stone cladding for interior walls and building facades is one of the countless uses for natural stones, among which Vicenza stone stands out for its ductility and color.
The technique of wall or facade cladding is the least invasive solution for updating an interior space or refreshing a building. The use of natural stone recreates absolutely unique environments, characterized by intense shades of light.
In the project we are presenting, the request was to revitalize a basement room, characterized by a wooden beamed ceiling and a beautiful corner fireplace. The goal was to make the space less impersonal, recreating a rustic and inviting atmosphere capable of conveying that sense of conviviality typical of traditional Venetian rural taverns.
Natural stone cladding requires a careful study of spaces and special attention to detail. Corners and jambs are very delicate points; the overall quality of the intervention depends on these details.
The style of the wall or facade to be clad depends on the shape of the stones. In this case, an irregular cut was chosen to highlight the stone’s texture and its natural roughness. In this context, the finishing of the joints enhances the shapes of the individual stones and creates a further “three-dimensional” effect, bringing the walls to life.
The corner fireplace was also designed to be naturally integrated into the context. The natural stone cladding, broken up by the horizontal elements of the fireplace, enhances its depth without overpowering the room’s volume.
The final result is a triumph of brightness. The environment exudes a sense of freshness, and the combination of stone and wood echoes a rural style defined by simplicity and conviviality.
